Davenport Washington… a small town along Highway 2 in Eastern Washington. Located about 35 miles west of Spokane, Washington and a quick 30 minutes to Lake Roosevelt and recreation.
In Davenport you will find a bank, a Mexican restaurant, the county court house, and the small but quaint Black Bear Motel and Cowboy Cafe.
And the best part of the Black Bear Motel and Cowboy Cafe is the cowboy theme.
On a trip to our property at Hawk Creek near Lake Roosevelt we chose to stay at this quaint cowboy motel. It was awesome. The rooms have a small tilt to the floor, yet are quite comfortable… AND just across the dirt parking lot is the Cowboy Cafe.
Breakfast is a must!! Traditional bacon, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes if you like.
The decor of the Cowboy Cafe is early western settler. On the walls are long rattle snake skins from real local rattle snakes found around the hills and wheat fields. Eerie.
WATCH YOUR STEP. EEK!!!
The motel and cafe owner was a bright eyed and grey haired lady with a permanent smile on her face. She seemed is so laid back. Not worry in the world. Not even a discouraging word.
I absolutely loved the experience of the Black Bear Motel and Cowboy Cafe. We will be back.
P.S. Stop by my Washington Gallery to see more of the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
