Sunset from Boulevard Bluffs

sunset, sunset photography, PNW, puget sound, landscape photographyThere really is nothing more stunning then a fiery sunset from the Puget Sound. They are simply breath taking. Wouldn’t you agree? 😉

Sunset on Boulevard Bluffs was captured from an affluent neighborhood that offers a stunning view of the Puget Sound, distant Islands, Ferry boats traversing back and forth between Mukilteo and Whibey Island, plus several times per day a brand new Boeing jet zips right over this property on its way back to Paine Field for deliver to an airlines.

A little bit about my HDR photography methods, my Nikon D750 camera settings, and finally info about the software and plug-in used to create this masterpiece.

This is an HDR photo that included 5 frames (-2,-1, 0, 1, 2). You might wonder… why? Why 5 frames and not your standard 3 brackets.

Purchase Sunset on Boulevard Bluffs for your art collection

For me, it’s simply about the quality of the details and depth. I believe 5 frames gives my images that extra detail and depth I am adamant about capturing in my final image.

I have tried many different types of editing software and plug-ins and always feel most comfortable using Photomatix Pro as my go-to HDR editing software.

I have used the Aurora Luminosity Neptune product. This MacPhun software will help you add radiance and softness to your images if that is your thing. Plus, there are presets and many different options for fine tuning your final images. I have no complaints with the Macphun products.

For this Sunset on Boulevard Bluffs photograph I used the following:

LightRoom 5

Photomatix Pro 6.02

Topaz DeNoise

My go-to de-noise plug-in is always Topaz De-Noise. Only the best will do when creating my HDR images. I trust the Topaz name to alway come through with outstanding quality, an ease of use plug-in, and reliability each time.

P.S. I choose and trust Photomatix Pro as my HDR editing software of choice. It is the Mercedes of HDR editing. Get Photomatix Pro here and enter ‘hdrbyspencer’ for a 15% discount.
